Timelines for the competitive track and council track can be found below. Grant timelines are estimates and subject to change, please check back.

2026 Council track timeline

Applications to the 2026 Council track will be accepted starting in mid-June through the online grant portal. After the 2026 cycle, the next Council grant cycle is anticipated to start in 2028.

Fall 2026 Decisions and authorization process
Winter 2026/2027 Funded projects develop and submit scopes of work, project timelines, and detailed budgets. Grant agreements are finalized. Projects start, with 2-4 years to complete.

2025/26/27 Competitive track timeline

The 2025/26/27 cycle will be a 2-step application process that starts with submitting a Letter of Intent. After the 2025/26/27 cycle, the next competitive grant cycle will open for applications in Fall 2027, with funds awarded in 2028.

August 19, 2025 Grant cycle opens. To apply, fill out a Letter of Intent form on the online grant portal. To learn more, attend an information session or office hours, or watch a recorded information session.

February 2, 2026 Applicants notified of status, invited to submit full proposal
