SEA26 soccer

World soccer is coming to Seattle this June! And King County Metro is the best way to get around on transit. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, heading to live matches, viewing parties or sightseeing, Metro is the most convenient way to travel. From how to pay, to planning your trip, use the rider tips below to have a fun and successful SEA26 experience!


Get to the match

Bus

Metro moves the most riders of any transit agency in the northwestern United States. And we’re ready to welcome the world for SEA26! Ride our buses to and from the Seattle Stadium, around the city, and to all four Fan Celebration locations (Seattle Center, Pacific Place, Waterfront Park and Victory Hall in SODO). Choose from Metro’s regular bus service, our special Match Day Shuttle and the Waterfront Shuttle. Use our Trip Planner to see which options work best for you.

Water Taxi

Ride Metro’s Water Taxi for a fast, fun and affordable trip across the water. Our boats travel between downtown Seattle to West Seattle or Vashon Island. The views are beautiful and not to be missed!

How to prepare

Seattle is expected to host over 750,000 visitors for the SEA26 soccer tournament. Luckily, Metro is prepared to welcome you on transit with more drivers and vehicles! With so many events, crowds and excitement, here’s how you can prepare.

How to ride

Step 1: Plan your trip

Use Metro's Trip Planner to find the best routes for your trip, and where to board and exit transit. Type in your starting address and where you'd like to go. Choose a time and a date, and your transit choices will appear.

Step 2: Find your stop

All buses have a route number or letter. Bus stops are marked by a pole and a sign. This sign will list all bus routes that stop there. Make sure the route you want to ride is listed on our signs.

Step 3: Board and pay using one of the ways below.

  • Ask the driver if you need extra help boarding—they will operate the front door ramp.
  • Tap on with an ORCA card.
  • Tap on with your credit or debit card, smartphone or smartwatch.
  • Purchase a Transit GO Ticket on your phone app, select it when you’re ready to ride and then show the driver.

Step 4: Request a stop and exit

Watch and listen for your stop to be announced. When your stop is next, pull the yellow cord or push a red  STOP  button.

The  STOP REQUESTED sign will light up and a bell will ding. Exit through a side or back door unless you need the front door ramp.
